Delete your First Words account

In the app

1. Open First Words and sign in.
2. Tap the profile icon at the top of the Children screen.
3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Your account is deleted straight away.

Without the app

Email privacy@firstwords.org.uk from the email address you signed up with, asking us to delete your account. We'll delete it within one month and reply to confirm.

What is deleted

• Your account: your name, email address and password
• Children you are the only owner of, with all their words and photos
• Your access to children that other adults own

Words you added for a child who has another owner stay with that child, so the other adults keep the child's full word list; your name is removed from them. To delete a child entirely, an owner can use Delete child in the app.

We keep no backups of our own; short-term recovery copies kept by our hosting provider are overwritten in the normal course. See the privacy notice for more.
